Day 1

Day 1

地點:馬來西亞吉隆坡機場

身體狀況:沉睡....

一早起來.覺得好像跟一般日子沒差.要去印度了嗎?還不敢相信!即使到了機場,我還覺得是在做夢! 在機場遇到了Waka さん.他要去加拿大去表演.他匆忙離開家,結果帶了不成對的一雙鞋,只好穿著他的拖鞋在機場走動.我跟Yo笑到一個不行.

我們需要先到馬來西亞轉機.抵達馬來西亞時候已經早上3.30了.我們前往印度加爾各答的飛機是在下午2.30.我們得出境再等去印度的飛機.我們拖著疲乏的腳步.找了位置坐下. 我只要坐到椅子上馬上就睡死.感謝Yo的照顧.他幾乎都沒有睡.

The moment I woke up, it felt just like the usual morning. "Am I really going to India?" I still couldn't believe it. Even when we arrived the airport, I felt I was still dreaming. We met Waka-san in the airport, he was heading to Canada for performances. He left home so hastily that he brought a pair of shoes that didn't match; and he had to walk around with his slippers in the airport. Yo and I couldn't help laughing.

We needed to transit from Malaysia. By the time we got there it was 3.30am already. Our flight to Kolkata was at 2.30pm next day. We had to leave the airport first to wait for the flight. We dragged our feet and found a place to sit down. I dropped dead once my bottom touched the surface of the seat. Thank Yo for taking care of me. He had to look after the luggage and couldn't sleep much. ( Truely appreciated!)

抵達加爾各答機場走出飛機的那一霎那."恩......聞起來不太一樣的地方"機場看起來舊舊的.有汗水的味道,潮濕的味道,(沒有咖哩味!大家都問我這件事)天花板上掛著舊式的鐵風扇.吹著微熱的風.沒有太多的遊客.我們很快的就出關了.機場的計程車是可以先在機場先付車資.這樣司機就不能亂叫價.然而我們走出去時,就一堆人圍了上來.要做我們的生意.我緊跟在Yo的後面.我們還沒上車,就有其他的司機在跟我們要錢了.我當時覺得"太誇張了吧!我們又不是坐你的車"年輕的司機,載著我們前往加爾各答.悶熱的車內(沒有冷氣喔),參雜著汗水,檳榔,還有不知道什麼的味道.車子晃阿晃的.不停的喇叭車,空氣汙染,擁擠的交通. 滿臉的汗水. 我笑了.我真的到了印度了!

Ｔhe moment I walked out of the plane, I smelled the differences already. The scent of sweat, humidity welcomed our arrival(no curry smell! Everyone's been asking me that). The arrival part of the airport looked old, and there were old style metal fans on the ceiling that blew warm breeze. There weren't too many tourists and we got out pretty quickly. You can prepay for the taxi in the airport so that the taxi driver "can't " ask you to pay more when you arrive your destination. Once we stepped out of the airport exit, a group of taxi drivers surrounded us,hoping to take the business. Before we got on our taxi, other taxi drivers had asked us for some money. I thought " That's a bit too much! We aren't even driving with you!".Inside the stuffy taxi ( no AC), combined the smell of sweat, beatle nut, and whatever the smell was, and air pollution, sweaty face, lots of people, lot of cows, insane traffic and endless honking. And then.... I smiled! " I am really in India!"

加爾各答的交通.人擠人.車擠車,人擠車,車子不停的喇叭聲, rickshaw的叭咘聲.隨地吐痰的人.骯髒的空氣.走在路上時候,都會有計程車司機或是rickshaw司機問你要不要坐車.喔.還有很多的烏鴉 .很吵! 一開始還˙覺得很有趣,好笑.但後來就開始有點受不了.覺得沒有平靜的一刻.到了旅館後,終於可以休息了.在旅館裡的寧靜.是一個特別的禮物.跟台北比起來, 台北真是個安靜的好地方啊!

Traffic is crazy in Kolkata. Always fighting with cars and people on the street. Endless honking from taxis, rickshaws and people spitting on the street.Oh, and the over happy crows chattering all the time. Very noisy! At first, I found all this very interesting and funny, but gradually I started losing my patience! There weren't any peaceful moments,and I started to feel like punching someone. Luckily we could take a good rest in the hotel, what a tranquil place and a special gift. Compare Kolkata to Taipei, Taipei is actually a super quiet city!

晚上Yo帶我去"roof top dinner".我們吃著好吃的印度菜,伴著我們的,還是路邊的噪音.但是我笑了.這就是印度. 旅館裡大大的天風扇.比冷氣還好用!我就在天風扇嗡嗡聲中睡著了.

We had dinner at the roof top of a posh hotel. Great food accompanied with noises of the street.Yet I smiled again. This is India! The big ceiling fan in the hotel was better than the AC. AC always makes my nose stuffy. The ceiling fan blew soft breeze on me, the droning sound was like a lullaby.

很早就醒過來了.可能是太興奮吧.不敢相信自己真的在印度.

早餐: breakfast

我們在這家路邊的飲料店點了香蕉 lassi.但是下面這個小朋友給我們香蕉聖代.一開始我以為他好好喔!給我們另外加上一個冰淇淋.後來才發現他可能是故意的所以我們要多付錢.這聽起來可能有點壞,但是我們沒有點聖代啊!所以我們只是付了lassi的錢.他要我們付聖代的錢.我們不願意我還記得小朋拿到錢時的表情.還是感覺到不好意思.

We wanted to have banana lassi for breakfast,but this little boy bellow made us banana sundae instead.At first, I thought " wow, what a nice boy! Extra ice cream for our lassi!" but then we thought he did that on purpose so we would have to pay more. I know it might sound cruel, but we didn't order a sundae and we only paid him for the banana lassi.He wanted us to pay more, we wouldn't. I still remember his face when he took the money and still feel bad.

I am sorry!!

我們在這又吃了早餐:麵包加上番茄,青椒,大黃瓜,美乃滋,紅蘿蔔,和印式番茄醬.

We had breakfast here,too. Bread with sliced tomatoes, green pepper, cucumber, carrots, maiyo and indian style ketch up.

有點像"sharing"的計程車.但是只載短程
車一停,就先問司機有沒有經過你想去的路線.
有的話就要馬上跳上去.不然會有其他的客人搶先!位置坐滿就請你等下一個吧!印度人手腳很快的.

it's like sharing a taxi but short distance. once the driver stops, you have to quickly ask him if he's heading the direction you want to go, and hop in quickly before someone else does, or you might have to wait for the next one. 　People there are fast!
